Preventing head lice in the summer

At this time of year the sun can be hot so it is time to get out the sun hats and keep everyone safe. A bonus to wearing sun hats is that it can also prevent head lice from crawling from head to head.

The best way is to tie up hair or put in a plait, then place the hair inside the hat, this can be great for when playing with other friends.

The summer is a peak season for children to get head lice from each other as they are all playing together for much longer. If head lice can not crawl onto hair they will not move over onto your child.
