Dimethicone on head lice, eggs and nits

Is NitNOT Topical Rinse Safe?

Professional Head Lice Removal Clinic

Dimethicone is found in many hair care and skin care products and is approved by the MHRA and FDA as a safe product to use.

The best thing is that there are no harmful chemicals

Head lice cannot become resistent to it.

Why does dimethicon kill lice and eggs.

Head lice feed on human blood, they do not urinate in the hair instead they perspire fluids from the bodies through ventricles, once these verticals are blocked they will internally explode as their bodies fill with fluid and then their internal organs burst, this also happens with the eggs.

The important thing is to get the right velocity of fluid unlike home remedies like mayo etc, we use a constant velocity that has proved to have a high rate of success. If it is too low it will slip off the louse if it is too thick it will not enter the ventricles and block the louse from perspiring.

Dimethicone, also known as polydimethylsiloxane, is a silicone-based polymer that is most commonly used as an ingredient in cosmetic products. It works as an anti-foaming agent, skin-conditioning agent, skin protectant, and skin and hair conditioner. Dimethicone stops water loss as it creates a hydrating barrier on the skin. Similar to other silicones, it is easily spreadable and creates a subtle gloss when applied to the skin.

  • Dimethicone traps everything under it when applied to the hair. Which eradicates the live lice.

  • The coating action actually prevents the head lice and eggsfrom performing its normal activities-like sweating, temperature regulating.

  • Nitnot's own topical rinse has not been tested on animals (apart from head lice)

What is dimethicone for head lice made off?

Dimethicone comes from silicones, which are derived from quartz, mined from the earth and also from sand.

What is the sustainability of dimethicone?  This will put your mind at rest

The use of silicones, siloxanes and silanes generates energy savings and greenhouse-gas emission reductions that outweigh the impacts of production and end-of-life disposal by a factor of 9.
